Balenciaga Jacket with
emphasized shoulders for 50 Euro, and Prada sequin singlet for 30 Euro.
It's not a dream. And fortunately, it's in Tel-Aviv.
Under the rooftop of Stella – a
second hand shop which engraved the European elegancy, classics designs
and elite sewing on its flag - you can't find Zara's "Retro", or
"Vintage" like a little torn flowered house robe, but old and classic
designer clothes, well-reserved.
"Today everything is new, and so
combination between old and new is the interesting one", says the woman
behind Stella, Ayelet Galor. "Dealing with the past and items related to
it, is my biggest love in life".
It is hard to ignore the feeling
of a European Boutique hovering the store's visitors. Paris is here. Or
at least a substantial feeling of it. And indeed, Galor opened the store
with returning to Israel after a decade in Geneva, where she was in the
business of fashion purchasing and vintage collecting.
After returning to Israel, She
says, she was looking for a place that can contain her business, and her
favorite thing: to search, and then to find. "I call it 'Findiesm', she
explained.
"I search all over the world,
it's my biggest joy. And on my searching I love to actually find – the
items that would move me, the classic cloth - patterns (designs) that
don't exist anymore".
She tries to implement her love
for the search process in the store itself. "I always put myself in the
customer's shoes", says Galor.
"You can come and only look and
feel comfortable with that. You don't have to buy on every visit. You
can come, stroll around and look", she adds. "Just like a museum or an
art show".
